Delivery Policy
DYTP Wholesale (company number [company number], VAT number [VAT number]), registered office [registered address], email [email protected].
1. Scope
1.1 This policy sets out how DYTP Wholesale ([registered address], [email protected]) delivers goods to trade customers in the United Kingdom, including orders placed online through the website. It forms part of our Terms of Sale, which take priority if there is any conflict.
1.2 Delivery outside the UK mainland, including Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and overseas, is by separate quotation only.
2. Delivery methods
2.1 Pallet delivery. Larger orders and mixed lots are shrink-wrapped and strapped to standard pallets and sent through a pallet network or by our own or a contracted vehicle. Pallets are delivered by a lorry with a tail lift and a pallet truck.
2.2 Parcel delivery. Smaller orders are boxed and sent by a parcel courier. Parcels are delivered to the door and may require a signature.
2.3 We choose the method that suits the order unless you ask for a particular method when ordering and we agree to it.
3. Charges
3.1 Delivery is charged as quoted. The charge depends on the number of pallets or parcels, the weight and size, the postcode and any special requirements such as a timed slot or a tail lift.
3.2 Charges are shown excluding VAT and are added to the invoice. If the delivery address or requirements change after quotation the charge may change.
4. Lead times
4.1 Lead times are as stated on the quote or order confirmation for each order. Where an order mixes goods from our own stock with goods bought to order, the quote says which lead time applies to each line.
4.2 Lead times are estimates. We will tell you if we expect a delay, but we are not liable for loss caused by late delivery.
4.3 Working days are Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays in England and Wales. Deliveries are made during normal working hours. Timed, morning, Saturday or next-day services are available at extra cost where the carrier offers them.
5. Kerbside delivery and access
5.1 Pallet deliveries are kerbside. The driver will lower the pallet to the ground at the nearest safe point to the delivery address that the vehicle can reach and that the pallet truck can cross. The driver will not carry goods inside, upstairs, over gravel or grass, up steps, or break a pallet down.
5.2 You must make sure that the address can be reached by an 18-tonne lorry (or tell us at the time of ordering if it cannot, so that we can arrange a smaller vehicle at the relevant charge), that there is a firm level surface for the pallet truck, and that there are no restrictions such as low bridges, narrow lanes, weight limits, height barriers or parking restrictions that would stop the delivery.
5.3 If you have a forklift, loading bay or other means of unloading, tell us when ordering. It may reduce the cost and allow delivery on a vehicle without a tail lift.
5.4 Someone must be present to accept the delivery, check the goods and sign the delivery note. You may sign "unchecked" if you cannot inspect the goods fully at the time, but the 3 working day period in the Returns and Claims Policy still applies.
5.5 Please tell us of any special delivery instructions, opening hours or booking-in requirements when ordering. For an online order, use the delivery notes box at checkout. The carrier will not telephone ahead unless we have arranged it.
6. Failed delivery and re-delivery
6.1 A delivery fails if the carrier attends at the address on the agreed day and cannot deliver because no one is available, the address cannot be reached or accessed, the goods are refused, or the details given to us were wrong.
6.2 A failed delivery is charged at the rate quoted, which is normally the original delivery charge plus any return-to-depot or storage charge made by the carrier. A re-delivery is charged at the rate quoted, which is normally the same as the original delivery charge.
6.3 If a re-delivery cannot be arranged within 5 working days of the failed delivery, the goods may be returned to us and stored at your cost, and the Terms of Sale on failure to take delivery apply.
7. Checking your delivery
7.1 Count the pallets or parcels against the delivery note before signing. If there are fewer than stated, note the shortfall on the delivery note.
7.2 Look for visible damage to the wrapping, boxes or pallet. Note any damage on the delivery note and photograph it before the driver leaves if you can.
7.3 Report any shortage, damage or goods not matching your order to [email protected] within 3 working days of delivery, with photographs. For an online order you can instead raise it from the order page on your account or by replying to the order confirmation email. The Returns and Claims Policy explains the process.
8. Collection
8.1 You may collect your order from our premises at [registered address] instead of having it delivered. There is no delivery charge for collection.
8.2 Collections are by appointment during our opening hours. Choose collection when you order, including at checkout on the website, and we will confirm through your account and by email when the goods are ready and agree a time.
8.3 For pay-on-order accounts the goods are released only once cleared funds have been received. Please bring a copy of your order confirmation or invoice and your vehicle must be suitable for the load; we will load pallets by forklift where the vehicle allows, but you are responsible for securing the load.
8.4 Risk in the goods passes to you when they are loaded onto your vehicle. Please check the goods before leaving; the 3 working day claim period runs from the day of collection.
8.5 Goods not collected within 5 working days of being told they are ready may be subject to storage charges as quoted or, after notice, resold.
